God of War 3 PC Port System Requirements
Check the required platform features and game build before downloading. A compatible API is not a promise of playable performance.

Operating system and CPU requirements
The project documents feature requirements rather than a conventional publisher-approved minimum/recommended PC specification. Use the checklist below to determine whether an installation is worth attempting; do not treat it as a performance ranking.
| Component | Documented condition | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | 64-bit Windows 10, version 1903 or later, or Windows 11 | Compatibility with every Windows configuration |
| CPU | 64-bit CPU with AVX | A stable frame rate on every AVX-capable processor |
| GPU / driver | Vulkan 1.3 support and a current driver | Freedom from GPU-specific rendering bugs |
| Game | A compatible PS4 Remastered dump | Compatibility with the PS3 executable |
| Storage and memory | Space for program, your game files, saves and a growing shader cache | A fixed “minimum RAM” or “minimum disk space” validated by this site |
Older CPUs need a version check
The current documentation describes instruction rewriting for some AVX CPUs missing MOVBE, BMI1 or LZCNT, including Sandy/Ivy Bridge and AMD FX examples. That support should not be projected backward onto older releases.
If a log reports a missing instruction, note the exact message and project version. Issue #102 is a historical report from a Xeon E3-1230 v2 system with a GTX 1650 and 16 GB RAM. It is useful evidence of an investigation, not an official recommended specification or an FPS test.
GPU, driver and Vulkan support
Find your actual GPU model and driver version before deciding that “my graphics card supports Vulkan” answers the compatibility question. API support is one requirement; the runtime also has card-specific bugs.
The 2.3.0 release notes list unresolved reports involving Intel integrated graphics, RX 550, RX 580 and out-of-memory errors on some other cards. Check the exact model and symptom rather than converting that list into a blanket brand ban.
For a laptop with both an integrated and a dedicated GPU, check which adapter the launcher selects. The 2.3.0 package includes a fix related to NVIDIA visibility on AMD/NVIDIA laptops, but other crashes can have different causes.
Compatible game IDs and update versions
| Game family | Project documentation |
|---|---|
| PS4 God of War III Remastered | CUSA01623 and CUSA01715 are documented tested IDs |
| Documented game versions | 01.00 and 01.02 |
| Original PS3 God of War III | A different executable; not this project’s input |
Tested IDs are not a promise that every dump carrying that label works. A complete update, an incomplete copy and an executable from another revision can behave differently. Keep the title ID, version and selected update path in your diagnostic notes.
The release still lists a crash involving a full 1.02 update. A recognized game version therefore does not eliminate the need to check known startup failures.
Reported hardware results and their limits
The 2.3.0 release describes upstream validation on an RX 6700 XT system and an RTX 5070 texture-fix test. These are identified test conditions from the project, not results obtained by this website.
We do not publish a fabricated “minimum GTX” or a predicted FPS for your PC. A useful hardware result needs, at minimum, a project version, CPU/GPU, driver, render resolution, engine rate and game scene. Without those details, comparisons can conceal the very differences that cause a problem.
If your system meets the feature requirements, continue with Windows installation or Steam Deck/Linux setup. Once the game runs, use the settings guide to understand quality and performance trade-offs.
